I photographed Li and Yang's family session at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, MA, two hours before sunset. While the sun was still bright and the light harsh, the canopy of trees and foliage helped soften the conditions. I don't always schedule sessions for golden hour—not everyone's availability aligns with sunset timing. What matters most to me is using the natural environment to capture your family's authentic story and emotions.

Before this session, Yang was really nervous. She'd been working from home, spending most of her time caring for her kids and managing the household. She hadn't worn makeup in a while, and her body had changed since becoming a mother. I reassured her that we weren't aiming for fashion magazine perfection—we were creating genuine family memories that celebrate exactly who they are right now.
